Kyaik Thale – Twente

Home to the Mingalar Bio Garden, Kyaikthale was destroyed during the Cyclone Nargis in 2008. However, people came together to help the people by building a garden that would provide for over 800 people, especially students. Experience the daily lives of locals and contribute to society by exchanging knowledge, experiences, and culture to make the lives of locals better.

  • Make offerings to the local monks as they collect their alms early in the morning
  • Enjoy a Myanmar cooking class using produce you’ve picked from the field
  • Experience and understand the lives of students in Mingalar monastic school
